CommerzVentures Leads €12 Million Round for lemon.markets

lemon.markets, a Berlin-based FinTech, has secured €12 million in funding led by CommerzVentures, bringing its total funding to €28 million. The company provides digital brokerage and custody infrastructure, enabling any business to offer investment products.

According to a press release from the company, lemon.markets plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate platform expansion and launch new partners. The startup, founded in 2020, aims to open 100 million brokerage accounts within the next decade.

Jonas Wenke from CommerzVentures stated, "At CommerzVentures, we love partnering with the most talented teams that are solving financial services' most complex problems. lemon.markets certainly ticks both boxes."

The company has achieved significant milestones in 2024, including obtaining comprehensive BaFin licenses and launching partnerships with industry leaders like Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas. lemon.markets' platform empowers partners such as beatvest and Tomorrow to offer diverse investment products to their customers.

The market for brokerage and custody infrastructure is booming, with a forecasted volume of $63 billion for the next five years. lemon.markets is positioning itself as a digital, regulated, and customer-centric infrastructure provider, supporting partners along the entire value chain.

With its API-first architecture and modular design, lemon.markets significantly reduces integration time for partners. The company plans to expand its team to handle scaling customer volumes, develop new products, and onboard more partners.
