Dive Raises $10 Million for CFD Software and U.S. Expansion

Dive solutions, headquartered in Berlin with offices in Boston, has announced a $10 million Series A funding round led by the D. E. Shaw group. This round of financing will accelerate Dive’s growth and expansion in the North American market.

Dive provides engineering teams with state-of-the-art Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation software, allowing them to test complex designs through Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) fluid simulation. This software enables the simulation of physical product components in a browser-based platform, facilitating seamless testing without physical prototypes.

Pierre Sabrowski, co-founder and CEO of Dive, emphasized that the company’s mission is to equip mechanical engineers with cloud-native tools to address multifaceted design challenges swiftly and flexibly. Dive’s innovative CFD software utilizes the Smoothed-Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method, simplifying the setup process and enabling new simulation applications.

The recent funding will also enhance Dive’s data analytics and data governance capabilities, strengthening its enterprise offerings. The company aims to expand its CFD simulation portfolio to support various new use cases, bolstering its position in the competitive CAE market.

Jean Nations from the D. E. Shaw group expressed enthusiasm about Dive’s potential to revolutionize the manufacturing and CAE industries. Dive’s meshfree and cloud-native approach allows for simulations that can significantly reduce production timelines and costs, promoting efficiency in the engineering process.

BMW Group and ZF have highlighted the benefits of using Dive’s software, noting faster design processes, improved system understanding, and easy simulation setups. The cloud-based platform facilitates global collaboration and eliminates concerns about computational resources and licenses.
