In a significant milestone for Berlin's tech ecosystem, MotionLab.Berlin has been selected to operate Europe's largest Makerspace, spanning 17,000 square meters on the ringberlin Model Campus. This groundbreaking project, supported by a €36 million regional economic development grant, promises to become a pivotal platform for transformative innovation.

According to Stefan Franzke, CEO of Berlin Partner, "With the planned Makerspace, one of Europe's largest startup centers is emerging. Decisive impulses and innovations will emanate from here, further strengthening Berlin as an international industrial location."

The Makerspace, located in a heritage-protected hall in Berlin-Mariendorf, is designed to be more than just a workspace. It's conceived as an open, CO₂-neutral campus that brings together entrepreneurs, researchers, artists, and innovators across diverse fields. Fridtjof Gustavs, Co-Founder of MotionLab.Berlin, emphasizes their vision: "Innovation must come out of the labs where it originates. Here, the entire location becomes a launchpad for innovation."

Focusing on critical areas like carbon capture, energy generation, and sustainable construction, the Makerspace offers cutting-edge workshops, modern machine infrastructure, coworking spaces, and test areas. With accessibility in mind, the campus will be connected to public transport and mobility sharing concepts, aiming to welcome over 5,000 people in an environmentally friendly manner.

This initiative underscores Berlin's commitment to maintaining its status as a startup capital and potentially becoming Europe's number one innovation destination.
