Keeping It In The Family – New €250M Fund
Polo playing founding partner of La Famiglia, Jeannette zu Fürstenberg, can certainly be said to belong to German high society and has considerable experience in co-founding as well as angel investing. Her VC fund La Famiglia fills its investment coffers with money mostly from successful international family offices and founders, who act as LPs (limited partners) in a private equity fund managed by a general partner (GP). Some of the founders that La Famiglia helped by investing in their startups early are now putting their rewards into a fund in order to help new startups, and of course reap the return on investment. According to RPNewspaper, La Famiglia has now gathered €250M for their third fund, which they will invest mostly in B2B tech-startups in AI, data, logistics, supply chain, fintech and insurtech, or so-called “Industry 4.0”. Tickets can be up to €5M for seed and growth stage startups. Berlin-based companies in La Famiglia’s portfolio include Forto and Y42.
