Taxfix Group Expands European Leadership with TaxScouts Acquisition

According to a company press release, the Berlin-based Taxfix Group, Europe's leading digital tax return platform, has acquired TaxScouts, the UK market leader for digitally prepared tax returns by tax advisors. This strategic move expands Taxfix's presence to four key European financial markets: Germany, the UK, Spain, and Italy.
The acquisition accelerates Taxfix's international growth, particularly in the UK, where over 12 million people file tax returns annually, with 46% reporting difficulties with the process. TaxScouts' expertise in serving diverse customer groups, including the self-employed, complements Taxfix's digital tax return services.
Martin Ott, CEO of Taxfix, stated: "The acquisition of TaxScouts marks a significant step in our European growth trajectory. Tax returns can be a difficult and anxiety-inducing task for many people. Breaking down these barriers and empowering people to take control of their finances, starting with their tax return, is our shared mission."
TaxScouts' 40-person team will collaborate closely with Taxfix to foster innovation and knowledge sharing across markets. Malcolm Cowley will continue to lead TaxScouts, while founders Kaupo Kõrv and Daniel Karger will remain as CPO and CTO, working closely with Taxfix's leadership team.
To date, Taxfix has submitted over 5 million tax returns for customers and secured more than €3.5 billion in tax refunds for European taxpayers. The integration of TaxScouts is expected to further enhance customer experiences and support even more people with their tax returns.
