Taxfix The Next Berlin Unicorn

Mathis Büchi and Lino Teuteberg aren’t quite normal. They evidently like taxes. They like taxes so much they founded Taxfix in 2016. Their app (browser or mobile) helps millions of people in Germany, France, Italy, and Spain to overcome their aversion to filling out their tax returns by providing a relatively easy interface backed by smart algorithms and a deep knowledge of the tax systems of the respective countries. Tech.eu reports that the company has now managed to raise $220 M in Series D funding, which brings their total valuation to over $1 billion, making Taxfix another Berlin-based unicorn. CEO Martin Ott wants to use the new money to expand the product portfolio and offer more financial services.
