In a significant move to address Europe's building efficiency challenges, Berlin-based startup WALLROUND has secured strategic support from Vonovia, Europe's leading residential property company, and Founders Factory through their joint PropTech Venture Studio, according to the company's press release.

WALLROUND is targeting the €390 billion European market of inefficient residential buildings, developing a digital platform to simplify property renovations and energy modernization. With EU climate goals requiring at least 2% of buildings to undergo energy-efficient upgrades annually, the current renovation rate of less than 0.8% presents a critical challenge.

The startup's innovative solution provides comprehensive tools for landlords to manage property renovations from initial analysis through execution. Founded in 2024 by experienced entrepreneurs Lukas Steinhilber, Tatiana Wotzasek, and Henning von Oesen, WALLROUND focuses on digitalizing and streamlining renovation processes for multi-family housing.

"Vonovia is the ideal partner to advance our vision," said CEO Lukas Steinhilber. "Their expertise in scaling energy renovations, combined with Founders Factory's venture-building capabilities, represents the perfect growth combination."

This collaboration marks Vonovia's first partnership with Founders Factory, aiming to support scalable, affordable, and climate-neutral housing solutions. Founders Factory, with a track record of supporting over 90 companies since 2015, brings significant early-stage startup expertise to the venture.
